L'intoxication à la fleur de Lys chez le chat

 Nombreux sont les chats attirés par un bouquet de fleurs déposé sur une table.Mais attention, certaines fleurs peuvent être toxiques notamment la fleur de lys. Selon le centre de toxicologie vétérinaire de Lyon, l'intoxication à la fleur de lys se place en neuvième place! Toutes les parties de la plantes sont toxiques et contrairement au chien le chat est attiré par celle-ci. Dans la majorité des cas l'ingestion se produit à l'intérieur de l'habitation. La fleur de Lys est toxique et provoque une nécrose des tubules du reins pouvant entraîner la mort rapidement si aucun traitement n'est mis en place! Si votre chat ingère une fleur de Lys, contactez rapidement votre vétérinaire pour qu'il puisse mettre en place un traitement. Si l'ingestion a eu lieu moins de 2 heures auparavant, le vétérinaire fera vomir votre chat et lui donnera du charbon activé pour limiter l'absorption du toxique. Si l'animal est présenté dans les 24 heures après l'ingestion, une hospitalisation avec mise sous perfusion et prise de sang sera mise en place. Il est donc important de surveiller vos chats ou de mettre le vase hors de portée. nb: le chien ne développera que des symptômes digestifs passagers et peu important. Dr Lamontagne |
